ALERT! Manufacturer Defect Frigidaire Range Model# FGGF304DLF, or similar:
Please be advised that the above referenced Frigidaire Range Model# FGGF304DLF has a manufacturer defect with respect to the control panel. Under normal use and operation, if the panel comes into contact with heat or steam being vented onto it from simmering pots and or routine range/stove top cooking it will blister and delaminate at the point of contact.
The control panel is a smooth, flat, shiny, black, touch sensitive panel, that spans almost completely across the entire rear mounted control panel assembly. The buttons are centrally located however the black surface extends outward to the right and left of the buttons. In my experience, operating the range about 3-4 times per week over 4 months, this panel has already been replaced once due to the same issue. It has of course happened again and in the same location despite our attempts to be extra cautious considering it's obviously limited ability to handle normal cooking conditions.
Due to the fact that this has occurred twice on two separate panels it points to the very strong likelihood of a manufacturer defect on this Frigidaire Range Model# FGGF304DLF, or similar. The manufacturer has clearly failed to ensure that the materials used for the control panel were designed to withstand the regular, normal, and routine conditions present while operating a cooking surface such as this Frigidaire Range Model# FGGF304DLF, or any range for that matter.
Other than the above described issue this range performs beautifully. The double oven setup is well designed, the convection oven option is a great bonus feature, the integrated cooktop grate is contiguous for ease of sliding pots around, the 5th burner in center is a great addition, and it is very attractive and functional overall.
